National Children’s Book Day Events

We will be celebrating the National Children’s Book Day on July 15, 2008 (Tuesday). A new memo stated that the Academic Convocation originally scheduled for July 22 has been moved to this day. This will thus be a shortened periods day (for the MS).

The National Children’s Book Day Celebration is celebrated yearly to commemorate the publication of Jose Rizal’s entry , “The Monkey and the Turtle” in the July 1889 issue of the Trubner’s Oriental Record in London.

Here is a listing of the fortunate series of events for this day:

For students:

  • DEAR sessions at the EMC (please encourage students to borrow books this week as well)
  • Launching of Grade Level projects: Eager Readers, Treasure Seekers and Book Nooks
  • Book Fair

For Faculty:

  • Soft launch of agslibris (yey!) and re-launch of Faculty Book Club
  • Activities for teachers (with book incentives) TBA
  • Book Fair
